About RERA Act.

Features of RERA Act:

  • Under RERA, timely completion of projects is ensured.
  • Under RERA, details of the project, such as layout, approvals, contractor, and construction deadlines are required to be provided to buyers.
  • Under RERA, a separate bank account must be opened for the project.
  • Under RERA, the builder has to pay interest to the consumer if the construction is not completed within the pre-notified time limit.
  • Under RERA, if the builder violates the orders of RERA, he can face a jail term of three years and a fine.
  • Under RERA, if a RERA agent or consumer violates RERA orders, he or she can be jailed for up to one year.
  • Under RERA, apartments can be sold only on the basis of carpet area.
